Handful of advice about choosing a bathtub

Large and comfortable bathtub is usually the dream of every person, who prefers taking a bath more than taking a shower, but we also are aware of the fact that sometimes this dream can’t be fulfilled – not necessarily because we can’t afford a bathtub, but more often due to the fact that in a typical, not very spacious bathroom in an apartment we can’t install a standard bathtub without the risk of decreasinh the bathroom’s functionality and/or its level of comfort. Thankfully for some time now there are available solutions that can be used to help our dreams come true without spending a small fortune and without any radical changes in the level of functionality of our bathroom.

Large bathroom – large bathtub

In larger bathrooms we usually don’t have to be too much concerned about the amount of floor space required by a bathtub, because it is more than likely that even after installing a really large one we will still have more than enough free space for any other fittings. That’s why in such large bathrooms we shouldn’t even consider installation of anything smaller than 170×75 cm (and preferably more than that). Basically we have two possible choices of types: rectangular or oval bathtubs – and it is necessary to have in mind that the main difference between these two type is their look, so we should focus on choosing the one that best suits the overall style of the bathroom (and our taste, of course). This means also that our bathroom will be less water efficient, because larger tubs require more water – typically up to 240-250 litres (there are also larger tubs available as well), but the pleasure of taking a long, hot bath in such a large bathtub is worth more than slightly increased water bills.

Solutions for small bathrooms

Definitely less typical (and maybe not as commonly sen in stores), but also very comfortable for the user and thus practically perfect solution for smaller bathrooms are asymmetrical bathtubs: such tubs are a reall bless for owners of untypically or irregularly shaped bathrooms. There are also corner tubs, which should be considered the first choice by owners of really tiny bathrooms, because these bathtubs offer the most reasonable compromise between space requirements and the level of comfort. What is very important is the fact that both aforementioned types of bathtubs can be also used as deep shower trays, which may be very helpful if not all members of our family share our great passion for bathing in a tub and prefer taking a quick shower.
